When questions don’t come up in silos, how could the answers? At Mito, we’ve been dreaming up and developing clever things for close to two decades now. Whether that means rethinking and revamping the digital ecosystem of an enterprise or crafting future-proof solutions to tackle complex business challenges, our team of 240-ish people is always hungry for the best solution. We do this for clients across Europe and beyond, in industries ranging from banking and aviation to e-commerce. But to keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible, we need a visionary leader to steer our ship (or rocket, or other cool object that can be steered) in terms of the technologies we utilize and how we do that. That’s where you come in.
In a nutshell:
Right now, we’re in the middle of transforming the way we work to be able to satisfy our clients' needs even better (not that they were complaining, but you can always improve, can’t you?). You will be joining the Capability Team within Mito, leading the technology area that consists of a diverse team of developers and testers delivering solutions, platforms, applications, and tools for clients in aviation, telco, lottery, and other exciting industries. Their scope ranges from smaller, but also super-important campaign development to huge (absolutely humongous) program delivery.
What you’ll do
- Vision and Roadmap: You own the technological vision. You’ll define a clear roadmap and consistently lead the organization in that direction, finding the sweet spot between modernization ambitions and the reality of legacy systems.
- Building a Future-Proof Org: We don't just write code; we build capabilities. You’ll proactively adopt relevant innovations (like, surprise: gen AI) into our daily workflows and champion a platform mindset through reusable internal tools and PoCs. We expect you to build a strong, competence based center of excellence.
- Business Accelerator: You’ll act as an enabler for other internal departments, allowing them to operate faster and better. You’ll establish strong IT standards and scalable development practices that empower the whole company.
- Leadership and Culture: You are the authentic representative of Mito’s values and professional culture, although at this point you probably have no idea what they are, but we assure you, they’re both nice and awesome. You won’t just delegate; you’ll mentor. You’ll strengthen an "ownership" culture and break down silos between teams.
- Partner in Crime: You’ll maintain a close and effective relationship with your peers leading other competence areas as well as client service, growth and business operation teams. You ensure our tech operations are in sync with financial discipline (like cash-flow) and legal compliance.
- Operational Excellence: You’ll maintain clear structures and responsibilities, ensuring that capacity management is efficient and our quality control is transparent and measurable via KPIs.
What we expect from you:
- Proven Track Record: You have 8–10 years of experience in the field, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the agency or professional services world.
- Language Skills: You are as fluent in English AND Hungarian as you are in technology — both in writing and during high-stakes negotiations.
- Strategic Mindset: You can turn high-level corporate strategy into clear, actionable capability plans. You see the big picture but never lose your eye for precision.
- Leadership Vibe: You have a calm, decisive presence and a healthy dose of diplomacy. You know how to provide constructive feedback and how to high-five the team after a win.
- Business Savvy: You have high-level economic knowledge and a systems-thinking approach. You understand that tech and business goals must always walk hand-in-hand.
- Independence: You are highly autonomous (definitely more than FSD) and pro-active, with the ability to identify emerging trends before they become mainstream.
You can score bonus points if you:
- Have experience leading cross-country or large-scale digital transformation projects.
- Are a pro at navigating the "escalation threshold" through effective delegation.
- Have a knack for building professional reputations that attract and retain top talent.
