We are looking for – IT Project Manager

Here at Mito we love creating clever things: apps, websites and other complex digital solutions for telcos, lottery companies and aviation brands all over the world. We are super proud of the things we put together and have a lot of fun while doing it.

Our lottery & betting development team of around 30+ wants to get lucky: they’re looking for a Project Manager to join their ranks. If you are not intimidated by managing huge and complex IT projects while discussing their details with tech leads, UX designers and everyone else who might be involved, then we feel like we’ve hit the jackpot.

Your tasks will be:

  • Managing challenging long-term development projects - and by challenging we mean that you do not only have to forward emails. You have to validate and clarify what you pass on from clients to colleagues, and vice versa.
  • We don’t need you to write code, but it’s more than welcome if you understand it and do not get intimidated by the sight of a source code.
  • Be comfortable using JIRA and Confluence as they are our second best friends when it comes to scheduling, specs and docs. Excel and spreadsheets, too - you won’t write macros but you should be able to use the different functions.

We need you to have:

  • You have managed at least one complex web project in the last years from specifications to release and follow-ups. On the technical side for the backend we have Yii, on the frontend we use Vue and AngularJS and occasionally some custom apps in Go and Rust.
  • You have excellent communication skills in Hungarian and English as you will have to use both in your day to day tasks.
  • You can read between the lines (absolutely no pun intended), especially when it comes to translating client comments to technical requirements.
  • You use ticketing (as you’ve seen above, we use JIRA) and you know that a bug report is not just saying “there is something wrong with the API, check it pls”. You are eager to dive into the logs if there is something fishy in a report.
  • Be a team player. Go, team!

We would be happy if you:

  • Have mobile development experience,
  • Have any experience with Gitlab as our code is living there,
  • Are acquainted with both Agile and Waterfall,
  • Dabbled in business analysis or held other auxiliary functions to PM,

Our hiring process

  • Our hiring process

    01Interview

If everything is cool with your resume, we’ll invite you to our office for a quick chat. You’ll meet with one of our colleagues from the People Team, who will introduce you to Mito and all the good stuff you will be part of if you decide to join us. She will be with you throughout the entire process and will assist you with anything you might need. You will have the opportunity to meet with the head of your future department as well. Most importantly, you will get to ask anything you’re curious about, from where our dogs take a nap to what specific tasks we work on for our clients.

  • 02Assessment

Afterwards, we will give you a test assignment. We do this with everyone, on every level.

  • 03Feedback

No matter the outcome, we’ll let you know what we think, so we all can learn from the experience. We greatly value your feedback regarding the whole process, so at this point we'll ask you some short but important questions as well.

  • 04Decision

Just like with the test assignment, we’ll get back to you with our final decision, hopefully with a big and happy yes!
