We are looking for – Head of Finance and Controlling

Mito has grown from 3 guys, averaging an age of 27, to four Business Units with close to 250 people dreaming up the most clever things our clients have ever seen (unless they’ve seen an AGI somewhere). We all share the same DNA, but do wildly different stuff, from local and global campaigns to cutting-edge digital tools used by millions, for clients all across the globe, with a yearly revenue of around EUR 25M. Picture it like a beehive where no two bees are completely alike - which makes the job of someone in charge of finances and controlling significantly harder. But if you love creating and finetuning processes, can turn challenges into projects, if you think IT is rather a solution than a problem, we’d love to talk to you!

To be a perfect fit for this role, we need you to have:

  • Master’s degree in finance and / or controlling 
  • At least 5 years of related work experience, min. 2 years in a manager role. 
  • You have experience working in, and leading a finance team in the SME sector, meaning 100-500 employees (if it’s 99 or 501, you’re good to go as well).
  • Excellent communication skills in Hungarian and English. 
  • Precsiion (noticed it?), leadership skills, a proactive mindset, the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and a strategic approach. In short: you could lead a country, but you’d rather not.
  • Experience in negotiation with higher management, executives (don’t worry, they’re nice but demanding).
  • Passion and enthusiasm for what you do, to build new processes, systems, automate what you can.

Here are your tasks:

  • The basics: establishment, continuous improvement, efficient and reliable operation and coordination of the Group's and the Business Units' financial processes, and the accurate and discreet management of financial administration. 
  • Preparing and supporting financial decisions, making proposals in line with the market situation. 
  • Identifying and proposing the development needs of the financial processes necessary to achieve the Group's medium and long-term objectives. Managing related projects and integrating them into the daily processes. (This is why we’d prefer if you thought of IT as something cool, not scary.)
  • Selecting and implementing a new financial system.
  • Did we mention that we would like to automate as much as possible? It would be your responsibility to make it happen. 
  • Creating, managing and continuously improving the quarterly review framework for the Group and the Business Unit companies, supporting and playing an advisory role for the Business Unit CEOs. Ensuring related background reports and their compliance. Monitor the liquidity of the Business Units and support its maintenance in a supervisory and advisory role. 
  • Managing the finances of the Business Units and the Group, setting up dedicated teams for each task and area to carry out the operational tasks. 
  • Independently monitor and coordinate the performance, development and work of your own team.
  • Develop, continuously optimize and update financial and controlling processes. 
  • Support projects and tasks not directly related to finance but with a financial aspect.

    01Interview

    If everything is cool with your resume, we’ll invite you to our office for a quick chat. You’ll meet with one of our colleagues from the People Team, who will introduce you to Mito and all the good stuff you will be part of if you decide to join us. She will be with you throughout the entire process and will assist you with anything you might need. You will have the opportunity to meet with the head of your future department as well. Most importantly, you will get to ask anything you’re curious about, from where our dogs take a nap to what specific tasks we work on for our clients.

  • 02Assessment

    Afterwards, we will give you a test assignment. We do this with everyone, on every level.

  • 03Feedback

    No matter the outcome, we’ll let you know what we think, so we all can learn from the experience. We greatly value your feedback regarding the whole process, so at this point we'll ask you some short but important questions as well.

  • 04Decision

    Just like with the test assignment, we’ll get back to you with our final decision, hopefully with a big and happy yes!
